He wanted everything he touched to turn into gold. Midas touched the tree, flowers, and fruit: they turned into gold. When he touched his food it turned to gold. He touched his daughter and turned to a golden statue. Midas decided he didn't want his golden touch. Midas washed his golden touch in a river

THE GRASHOPPER AND THE ANT
It was a hot day in summer. Greg, the grasshopper sang and danced. Suddenly he saw a tiny ant carrying a heavy load. "Hey!” said Greg, "It's a beautiful day, why are you working?" The ant was angry. "I'm working because we need corn for the winter. What will you eat when there is no corn in the fields?" The ants worked hard collecting corn all summer long.
Winter came quickly and soon there was snow on the ground and no food to eat. Greg was cold and hungry. The ants were warm in their nest. They had lots of food. They sang and danced and ate all winter.
"Please give me some food", said Greg to the ant. "OK", Said the ant. "This time I will help you, but next summer you must collect your own corn"
